Get started
Start here to install, configure, and use Raven Anticheat.
What Raven is made of, where your settings live, and the order to read the rest of these pages in.
How Raven is put together
Raven is two halves. A resource runs on your FiveM server and does the detecting, and the dashboard at ravenac.net holds your settings, your logs and your bans. The resource dials out to the cloud rather than listening for it, so there is no port to forward and no inbound address to register, even behind a proxy.
| Piece | Where it runs | What it does |
|---|---|---|
rac | Your FiveM server | Runs every detection, issues the kicks and bans, and installs itself into your other resources. |
| Dashboard | ravenac.net | Holds your config, bans list, activity log, players, live view and downloads. |
wss://ws.ravenac.net | Outbound from your server | The live link between the two. Config and commands travel down it, detections and player data travel up. |
www.ravenac.net | Outbound from your server | Licence verification, the config pull, ban and kick calls, and the self-update feed, all over HTTPS. |
Your settings live on the dashboard
The dashboard owns your config. The package you download contains no config.json at all. Your live config is fetched from the cloud when the server verifies its licence, and it is pushed to the running server again every time you press save. licence.key is the only file in the package that carries anything of yours, and the download fills it in for you.
A saved change applies immediately, on the server and for everyone online, so you never need to restart the server to change a setting.
What to read, in order
| Order | Page | Read it for |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Installation | Getting it running, the three server.cfg lines it needs, and what it changes in your other resources on the first start. |
| 2 | Your first hour of tuning | The settings to change before players connect, in the order that prevents the most false bans. |
| 3 | Configuration overview | How the config is shaped, which sections reach the resource, and which ones stay in the cloud. |
| 4 | What Raven ships with | The shipped value of any setting before you touch it, including the twelve detections that ship switched off. |
| 5 | Updating Raven | How the self-update works, when it needs a restart, and what each build added. |
Once bans start arriving
| Page | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Reading a detection | You have a log entry and want to turn it into the config change that stops it happening again. |
| Bans list | You need to find, review, restore or remove a ban. |
| Review a false ban | A player appealed and you need to decide whether the detection was right. |
| Troubleshooting | The dashboard shows offline, a console message is unclear, or something is not behaving. |
